The Selmer Maccaferri Hawaiian Model
The Hawaiian models of the Selmer Maccaferri guitar are hard to find and many have over the years been converted to regular guitars . Michael Simmons (Editor at Large for Fretboard Journal magazine) is the lucky owner of this gorgeous example ....just like the one used by Gino Bordin . These very fine pictures were taken by Ian Nansen . Thanks to Michael for sharing them with us.
We thought too that we would give a plug for Francois Charle's fabulous book on Selmer Maccaferri guitars ...which is now back in print . The Selmer guitar is famous today because of the Django connection of course...but the little known Hawaiian model is a thing of real beauty as you can see from these photos:
